Skagit River Hike and Float
Why not combine a Nature Hike and Float in one of the most pristine areas in the Pacific Northwest? This memorable adventure will enliven your sense with the wonder that surrounds you withing the dynamic eco-system of the Skagit River, Starting where the river comes to life, we journey down the Mighty Skagit following the route of our Native brothers and the the early miners and loggers that changed the economy of this pristine area. We stop at a designated safe hidden beach to begin our Journey into a forested area dotted with plant life along a clear mountain stream. Hiking up a canyon where the snowpack releases the cold mountain spring water to our delight teeming wiht life – i.e. cutt throat trout, birds and many discoveries along the way.
This adventure takes you right to the heart of the action covering 8 miles of the Skagit River and 3 miles of hiking trails! The trip takes about 5 hours from meeting time to return and is suitable for ages 12 and up. There is no white water. Bring a backback, dress for hiking a moderate trail, include your cameras for the many photo opportunities. Pack a lunch, we provide water.
Meet in Marblemount, WA at the Shell gas station just off Highway 20 on the River Side. Prior to embarking on your safe inflatable raft our guides will brief you with our safety talk about this trip. This excursion is suitable for Adults and Children age 12 and older. The hike is considered moderate. We provide a shuttle service, life jackets, water and extra rain ponchos when necessary. Please see information in What To Wear section for proper clothing for the weather conditions on this outing.
